Stephen W. Buchanan has over 25 years of general business management experience, with the last 19 years focused on venture capital and private equity firms. For the five years prior to joining Dogwood Equity, Steve was a general partner of Kitty Hawk Capital, the oldest private venture capital firm in the Southeast. At Kitty Hawk, Steve was active in the day-to-day management and investment decisions for three venture capital limited partnerships, totaling $100 million. Prior to joining Kitty Hawk Capital, Steve served as a principal of Allsop Venture Partners, a private venture capital firm with over $105 million under management. Steve was vice president and a partner in FBS Venture Capital Company, a licensed SBIC. He also has experience as a commercial loan officer and risk manager.
